Into the Fog and Dunes
Thick mist over the Empty Quarter delayed the start of Stage 11, forcing a shortened route for bikers while cars tackled the full 276 km stretch of dunes. Despite the visibility challenges, the American racers and Ford team delivered standout performances.
Ford vs. Dacia: The Rivalry Heats Up
Ford secured its second consecutive Dakar stage win with Mattias Ekström, following Nani Roma’s triumph in Stage 10. The Swede edged out Nasser Al-Attiyah’s Dacia by 41 seconds, extending his advantage over the Qatari in the fight for the final podium spot. Meanwhile, Yazeed Al Rajhi surged past Henk Lategan to reclaim the overall lead, setting the stage for a dramatic final day.
Bikers: Americans Hold Their Ground
With the stage cut in half, America’s riders held steady. Daniel Sanders defended his overall lead, while Spain’s Tosha Schareina made up valuable time but remains nine minutes behind before the last sprint.
Cars: Final Moves Before the Finish
Ekström’s victory reinforced Ford’s growing presence in Dakar, while Al Rajhi’s aggressive approach saw him leap past Lategan to take command of the general classification. With just 61 km left, the Saudi driver is on the brink of his first Dakar title.
Challenger: Strong Showing for Colorado Motorsport
Zachary Lumsden and Shannon Moham climbed to 10th overall after a solid stage, while Corbin Leaverton and Taye Perry finished 20th. Despite earlier setbacks, Leaverton remained competitive in the category.
SSV: Sara Price Dominates, Heger Holds Firm
Sara Price secured her second stage win of Dakar 2025, finishing ahead of Can-Am teammate “Chaleco” Lopez. Brock Heger maintained his overall lead with a fourth-place finish, while Hunter Miller crossed in eighth.
With just one short stage left, the Americans and Ford team are poised for a strong Dakar finish.
